cura

Privacy

cura is a place for what you write and say. This page says what cura keeps, where, who can read it, and what it never does. cura is made by Epiphany Lab LLC.

What cura keeps

Where it is kept

Your notes live on your devices and in cura's database (Supabase, in the United States, on Amazon Web Services). They are encrypted in transit and at rest. The website is served by Vercel. Sign-in emails are sent through Resend. If you sign in with Apple or Google, they confirm who you are to us; they do not see your notes.

Who can read your notes

Only you. Every note belongs to your account, and the database refuses any request for it that does not come from you. cura's staff do not read your notes.

Private notes are encrypted on your device with a key only you hold, before they leave it. Our servers store them but cannot read them, and no model, ours or anyone else's, ever sees their content. If you lose every device and your recovery passphrase, private notes cannot be recovered, by you or by us.

Transcription and AI

Voice notes are transcribed on your Apple Watch, iPhone or Mac. Today no cloud model reads your notes. If cura starts using one for standard notes, this page will name it before it does, and private notes will never be sent to one. Your notes are never used to train any model.

What cura never does

Leaving, and deleting

cura stores what you write as plain Markdown, so it leaves with you in a form any app can read. Settings, Export all notes gives you every note as a Markdown file, with its dates, labels and recordings, in one zip; a single note has its own Export. Private notes are included once your recovery phrase opens them, on your device. To delete your account and everything in it, write to us from the email on your account; we will remove it all within 30 days.
